HIFZ DEPARTMENT

1. Introduction & Objectives

The Hifz Department is committed to providing a structured, supportive, and spiritually enriching environment where students memorize the Holy Quran with precise Tajweed (pronunciation rules) and strong retention (Daur).

Our primary goals include:

  • Mastery of Tajweed & Phonetics: Ensuring every verse is recited according to classical Arabic phonetics (Makharij).
  • Systematic Retention: Focusing equally on new memorization and long-term revision to build unbreakable memory.
  • Character & Moral Building: Nurturing Islamic etiquette, discipline, and Quranic values in students’ daily lives.

2. Core Academic Framework

The Hifz curriculum is structured around three vital daily components:

  1. Sabaq (Daily New Lesson):
    • The new portion assigned daily (ranging from a few lines to a full page).
    • Recited directly to the teacher prior to memorization to correct any pronunciation errors.
  2. Sabqi (Recent Revision):
    • Recitation of the most recently memorized portion (typically the last 5 to 10 pages or the current Juz/Para).
    • Prevents newly acquired verses from slipping out of memory.
  3. Manzil / Daur (Overall Revision):
    • Cumulative daily revision of older Para/Juz portions (half to a full Juz daily).
    • Essential for long-term retention and overall mastery across the entire Quran.
